What is required to use My LDS Stake?

How does My LDS Stake get my ward and stake information?

The first time My LDS Stake starts it will ask you for your LDS Account username and password. It then signs in to your ward and stake websites and downloads the membership and leadership directories, calendars, lesson schedules, news and more for each of the wards in your stake. That's a lot of data to download, so it may take a while. Fortunately it is downloaded in the background so that you can continue to use My LDS Stake.

Why is some of the information out-of-date or incorrect?

The information on your ward and stake websites is maintained by your ward and stake webmasters (usually your ward and stake clerks). Many wards are dynamic, with people frequently moving in and out, which can result in some information that's inaccurate. You can ask a member of your bishopric to find out who is responsible for keeping this information up-to-date, then ask them to correct it.

My LDS Stake can automatically update this information on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, or you can manually update it at any time. This will ensure that your information is as accurate as what's provided on the website. You can also edit the name and contact details of members on your iPhone and iPod touch for your own use.

Is my username and password safe and secure?

My LDS Stake securely stores your LDS Account information on your iPhone or iPod touch, and will only send it directly to LDS.org over SSL with end-to-end encryption. It does not send your username or password anywhere else, or to any intermediate websites. My LDS Stake even includes the option to set a passcode to provide an even greater degree of security.

Is any data stored on third-party servers?

My LDS Stake does not store any information downloaded from the ward and stake websites on any server (including our own). It is only stored on your iPhone or iPod touch.

For your convenience, My LDS Stake provides a way to copy contact information to your personal contacts, which could be synced to a third-party server. It also provides a way to copy calendar events to your personal Google calendar. When using these features, please abide by the conditions of use for ward and stake websites, and ensure the proper use of this information.
